1. The smell of marijuana coming under the adjoining room door was so strong the last night that it reminded me of a college frat house - and prompted me to pull the mattress off the sofa and pull it into our bedroom so the kids could sleep in there.

3. The room (2 story bungalow) was nice but felt somewhat uncomfortable to us, perhaps due to the lingering smoke smell, perhaps due to the worn around the edges feel - the glass cabinet with the mini-bar amenities was teetery; the couch had the leather worn off the corners; the floor was stained; the spiral staircase was rickety.

4. The first night we were there, there was a lingering garbagey smell on the restaurant patio which we thought might have been driving people away, but I guess the garbage was picked up the next morning as the smell was gone.

5. When we got to our room, it smelled very strongly of cleaning products - so much so that we had to open the patio doors to air it out.

8. One, the restaurant and the elevator by the restaurant smelled so bad that I had to hold my nose when I passed to keep from getting sick.

9. The 4th floor hallway had a bad order smell to it and the carpet had lots of stains and looked very dirty.
