1. Only downside would be if you plan on making some meals there isn't anything besides plates, utensils and pots/pans - you'll need to bring salt/pepper, containers, salad dressing, BBQ sauce etc otherwise it may be a bland meal (we stayed at a separate condo in Kauai and they had everything including a cooler, ice pack, containers and even a boogie board/snorkel set).

2. The only downside (if you want to call it a downside) is the pool is relatively small compared to neighboring mega type resorts.

3. The downside is they stop running to the Mahana at 8pm so after that you need to get a taxi, and from the Whalers Village its $13.

4. The only downside at all was that there was no restaurant on-site and, therefore, no room service, although there was a nice little snack bar down by the pool for breakfast sandwiches and light lunches.

9. The only downside is that there is no bar or food court in the lobby, but restaurants, coffee shops, and a full grocery store (that is superior to Safeway 4 miles down the road) is a five minute walk away.
