1. It is rented directly, not through Aston, so you avoid the resort charge.

3. All in all, it was just so frustrating to get a room at first which I had gone to such lengths to avoid in the Murphy-bed (especially after a long day of travel), and to be told on top of that, that I was being 'upgraded' to the room style I had been adamant about NOT WANTING.

4. The Mahana has excellent gas grills by the pool to cook dinners if you choose to avoid the many costly restaurants in Maui.

6. Also, there was a landscaping project going on right outside our room #117 (on the pariking lot side not the ocean side), so we had to avoid the orange cones, flagging and workers each time we came or went.

8. The coral in front of the Mahana provides some great snorkeling but it is best to enter the water further south of the complex to avoid the coral directly.
