1. Our other gripe with the hotel was that though we like big hotels and the HHV in Honolulu, the HWV lacked the tiki torches and 'hang out' outdoor space that all big resorts in Hawai'i should have (the Fairmont's was very nice).
"The Cold Pools Ruined It - And Where Are the Tikis!? " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/16/2011 Vote
2. If we were constrained to spend our days there it would be tolerable but disappointing for the lack of ocean acccess - but there is so much more nearby.
"Great art, nice rooms, interesting transportation, fake beach " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/3/2011 Vote
3. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of services while we were there.
"Nice resort, but when it's empty they really have a lack of service " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/14/2010 Vote
4. Agree with the previous rater -- the resort itself is nice to look at, but there is a lack of polish in terms of the resort itself, the rooms, and customer service (perhaps due to downturn in economy?) The trams and boats needed to get around the resort (unless you want to walk -- a lot) get a bit old after a few days.
"Okay for a few days ... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/26/2010 Vote
5. The lack of sandy beach didn't bother us, if a day at the beach is your thing there are several great beaches within <15 minute drive.
"Great for families - my kids loved this place. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/7/2010 Vote
6. It just was just kinda lacking in that Aloha spirit that I'm looking for when I travel to Hawaii.
"It's a beautiful resort, just bring comfy shoes " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/16/2010 Vote
7. The lack of ashtrays is not a deterrent -- it's a fire hazard and it's eventually going to cause a litter problem.
"It's a beautiful resort, just bring comfy shoes " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/16/2010 Vote
8. To make up for the lack of a real beach here, there is a lagoon area that has a sandy beach where you can snorkel or rent kayaks, paddle boards, etc.
"It's a beautiful resort, just bring comfy shoes " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/16/2010 Vote
9. lacked the 'aloha' touch, if that makes sense to you.
"Just like any other resort (which it shouldn't). " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/2/2010 Vote
10. The customer service also lacked the 4 star experience.
