1. There were signs of wear, like a drain with the plug broken off and the smell of solvent in the hall, but these weren't too concerning.

When we arrived in our room everything looked fine, but as we prepared for bed down after a long day we found a number of problems: the heat/AC was noisy; one of the mattresses had a distinct slope to it , as if the springs had been broken or worn out on one side; the shower head was stuck in the shower-massage setting; and the hot water at the sink could not always be turned off.
