1. The valet is $35 a day, which is a little pricey but it is quite convenient to not have to deal with street parking or walk to the nearby parking garage with our massive amount of luggage and dog bags.
"Convenient location & dog friendly " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/15/2012 Vote
2. The rooms not on the streets are very quiet.
"charming hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/18/2012 Vote
3. Cafe Bean down the street has AMAZING chai lattes and good food as well.
"Gem of A Hotel At an Awesome Rate " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/6/2012 Vote
4. I've heard a few reviews say that it's situated in a rough area, but my cousin who's a cop and has friends who patrol the Sutter Street area says it's pretty decent and safe, not perfectly clean but bearable.
"Definitely comfortable stay. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/5/2012 Vote
5. Getting street parking in the city at night is definitely a challenge -- you have to find a block that 'feels' a bit more secure, then allow yourself 15-30 minutes to circle around and around until you find a spot, making sure to pay attention to the street signs so you don't park on a street where parking is prohibited the next day (supposedly for street cleaning) and then you have to get to the car before the meter readers start working (we were out and about by 8:30 AM and they don't work on major holidays, so that wasn't an issue for us).
"Quaint & Clean Hotel in a rather grimy hood " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/19/2011 Vote
6. Especially delicious was Golden Coffee right across the street.
"Great location for a great price " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/6/2011 Vote
7. My renovated room, 703, is ideal, as I experienced no street noise to speak of, and it was high enough that I could enjoy some views of San Francisco's hills.
"Charming Boutique Hotel with Character and Comfort " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/18/2010 Vote
8. I found the first two to be true - 10 minutes walk to Union Square, five minutes to the cable cars, less than 30 to Lombard Street if you fancy a stroll - but not the latter as the staff behind the front desk were always willing to help when I needed directiosn or travel tips.
"A Fine Hotel in a Great Location WIth Helpful Staff " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/5/2009 Vote
9. The hotel is conveniently on the Sutter Street bus lines; and walkable to Union Square, Polk Street restaurants, theatre district, etc. Rates were a very good value, as the hotel at the time was offering one night free if three nights were booked I will look forward to a return visit, especially when the new restaurant is established, and the renovations have been completed.
"Evocative Boutique Hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/15/2009 Vote
10. There is a great coffee house on the street two blocks from the hotel which is popular with the locals.
"Good Location, quiet room but undergoing renovation. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/24/2009 Vote
