1. I was delightfully surprised at the huge tub, the marble floors in the bath, and the view.

3. The bathroom was not as spacious as in the room on the 5th floor, and it had a combined tub and shower, but I didn't find it dysfunctional.

5. We like the Kimpton hotels because they are boutique hotels, they accepts pets, they do nightly free wine receptions, etc. The Sir Francis Drake is an older hotel and although we had an Executive King room it seemed rather dated, the closets smelled very musty, the bathroom door wouldn't close, the bathtub had been painted and the paint was peeling off and flaking into the tub, there was no space for placing toiletries or hairdryer, broken ice maker on our floor, no wine reception held at this location (they will give you a coupon for free glass of house wine in bar however), a sad workout room, no spa or saunas like at other Kimpton hotels, and pretty flat front desk personnel (except for the Concierge).
"Kimpton Hotel Monaco a better choice in Union Square " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/27/2011 Vote

8. The beds were very comfortable, but after 2 nights we felt very cramped - the bathroom was very small although it did have a tub, although the room could use a really thorough cleaning.
