3. I thought Hotel Wales was a charming little hotel with very friendly front of staff and in a great location close to fabulous restaurants (particularly useful as there isn't room service to speak of - they will get food from restaurant next door).

8. The small, canopied entrance on Madison Avenue signalled no pretensions but the welcoming staff, nicely appointed room with fresh and stylishly designed bath exuded comfort and security right away.
