1. The hotel was in a great location for our first visit to New York, many sights are within walking distance with plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.

3. The guy who delivered our bags to he room did mention that the top floors are less quiet when the rooftop bar is open in the summer months, but it was closed when we visited.

The only negatives I would give to this hotel is the price of the mini-bar (overpriced drinks and snacks - go to the Deli up the road which sells a lot more for a lot less), the fact that the bathroom didn't have a bath (which is useful after a days walking in NYC) and the roof-top bar was closed, which would have been a nice location to chill after a days sightseeing.
