The wood work, bath fixtures,
closet
s, etc. are beyond needing a paint job and a total gut/replace is required to bring this hotel up to standards set by places like the Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott.

The room had a small but nice walk-in
closet
and two very comfortable double beds, but we had to call about broken hinges on the desk cabinet and the guest chair had filthy looking/stained pillows You get the impression that no one does any quality control or inspections on the rooms whatsoever unless and until a guest calls to report it.

Room was big enough to lay our large bags out on the floor and had a walk in style
closet
with heaps of hanging space for winter coats.

We even had a walk in
closet
(small but still a walk in) The location is ideal - Grand Central Station is 2 blocks away - so it was a perfect stop for a base.

It was also very tastefully appointed in modern decor, with a separate bar area, sofa, mini-bar, good size
closet
, plus all the usual amenities.

There was a bank of
closet
s with sliding doors (with a safe), and a minibar area (which was no longer functional) with a cabinet on top (great for storing snacks, meds, etc. A sitting area near the windows that actually opens.
