9. We had a bill outside our door on the day of checkout, and noticed we were accidentally charged for something in the mini bar that we definitely did not consume (everything is very expensive, so we never dare touch anything when we stay in hotel rooms!) but the receptionist took it off the bill no questions asked.

10. For anyone going to New York City for the first time, it is usually a shock to discover that the city and state nail visitors as much as 25% in taxes, fees and anything else they can think of to add on to a hotel bill, so it is always smart to consider this before you accept a quoted hotel charge without the fees and add-on costs.
"Trendy Elegance with a touch of Weirdness in Midtown NYC " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/5/2009 Vote
