5. Bryant Park at Christmas time is exceptionally special, with European-style holiday shops, restaurants, ice skating and a fabulous outdoor, (and heated!) beer garden.

10. We actually ran into our cleaning lady one morning as coming back to our room for a change of clothes, and although her English wasn't very good, she was incredibly friendly and recommended a great Cuban restaurant up the block.
