4. this trip is different because it's the first trip we take with our 18 month old baby, and that really changes things, so I sent an email to jacqueline ploettner, the resort manager, who had taken excellent care of my parents and sister when they were at the epic a few months ago.

6. Zuma, in turn continued the great welcome, as the restaurant manager that I remembered from January immediately offered to pour our bubbly to Zuma's own flutes; I was ready for the usual 'Sorry, you can't bring that in here' routine.

7. And as I already mentioned the entire staff (valets, front desk, pool concierge, resort manager, etc) all went above and beyond before (welcome email when I booked), during (nice welcome from Elisa who also gave me a late check out) and after (follow up email by the resort manager) my stay.
