5. I strongly recommend staying in a Sea Ranch Cottage to experience the sound of the pounding surf, and views of the gorgeous, unspoiled Hana coastline from your giant lanai deck.

8. Assuming the noise is not a regular occurrence, I might tentatively recommend it to a friend, but certainly not for more than $300 per night.

9. Thank goodness we stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Maui for the first 6 days of our trip, which I HIGHLY recommend but made our stay at this hotel that much more disappointing.
