1. Stong points-incredibly beautiful settings-laid back Hawaian feel-spacious cottages with big decks (and did I mention great views)-nice pool-competent service and good (but not extensive) amenities-horses-beautiful landscapingThings to know-no TVs/internet in the room (available in TV room)-there is no service at the pool-the anti-Ritz Carlton-you will need to drive or shuttle to the nearest beach-the property has changed hands and owners are planning changes (so check status).

2. Rather, it offers a kind of barefoot luxury where you can relax with more than an acceptable amount of amenities and enjoy the beauty of nature, which is very much on display.
3. Better yet, amenities like bottled water and real Kona coffee are free/complimentary, as are the beach shuttles, fresh coconuts made ready for you at your pleasure, the yoga and exercise classes, hula and craft lessons and the wonderful walking tours.
4. Nice little amenities in the room (delicous hawaiian chocolates, fruit, fresh kona coffee bean with a grinder to brew FRESH COFFEE EVERYDAY, bathrobes, comfortable bedding).
5. I had a similar experience to most of the reviewers here - warm and friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and a lot of complimentary amenities.

6. We normally like to stay in modern, somewhat high-end accomodations and, though the Hotel Hana doesn't have televisions or other modern amenities, it was one of the best experiences we've had.
7. Our garden junior suite (I think everything is a suite except the ocean view cottages) was large and comfortable, and the pools, beach, spa, and other amenities were great.

8. It is not a luxurious property in the classic sense (if you are after four season amenities the property is not for you) and does not have the best service we have experienced (in fact service was somewhat limited for a resort), but the relaxed atmosphere, the stunning location (even for Hawaii), the friendly Hawaian local feel and the wonderful camp/cottage setting creates something very special which you dont experience at your run-of-the-mill corporate 5-star resort.

9. And, to stick to the truth: If this hotel would be located in any other town on Maui, it would need to update its ground and amenities to stay in business against the stiff competition.
10. The hotel provides amenities at the beach which was unexpected and very nice.
