1. In fact I have had delicious plate lunches, but their very expensive buffet was not even as good as a good plate lunch, it was like bad plate lunch for a lot of money.

2. Places like Hilo Lunch Shop, Suisan(for those that are more 'adventurous' try the Hawaiian candy or dried aku poke), Seaside restaurant, Lanky's bakery and 2 Ladies Kitchen are just a few places we stopped at to try the local grinds.

3. Parking -- lots of it and its free, Elevators -- never waited for more then 15 seconds for a elevator at others needed to take my lunch, helpful and cheerful front desk -- at others they look at you as to 'what the *&*% do you want' and room upgrades we got up graded to a ocean view room for pennies of what they wanted on the web site.

4. Ken's Pancake House, close by is a great choice for breakfast and Pesto's on the main street across the bridge is very good for lunch or dinner.
