The Days Inn is 2-3 blocks from the Van Ness-UDC metro station in a safe residential area (and contrary to what the previous reviewer stated, the Van Ness neighborhood is a very good and safe area in Northwest DC)- restaurant options in the neighborhood (Italian Pizza Kitchen [across the street from the hotel] is fantastic; Potbelly, Epicurean, and Starbucks are also close by); don't bother with Tesoro, the restaurant associated with the hotel--it's over-priced and not very authentic Italian for what it is.
