If possible, I'd give a rating of 3.5The good: It is the historic past host of many a presidential inaugural ball, etc.; it's lobby is pretty ornate; it's garden in the back is beautiful and inviting; the gym and pool (although I didn't get to use) are good; the service is great; location is good - walking distance to the zoo and about 3 metro stops from downtown/ the national mall.

6. The room was large, breakfast buffet was sumptuous, gym was open 24 hours with great selection of equipment, good service etc. The location (about 1-2 miles from Dupont Circle) was very convenient with a great selection of good restaurants all around.

7. The gym, also complementary, is fully decked out with 4 eliptical machines, probably the same number of treadmills, filtered, iced water a good set of weights and weight machines.
