1. A few years back, Olives occupied that space and we loved that restaurant so were so sad to see it had been replaced by this average hotel dining room.

That said, if you can roll with the punches and not get irritated about being awakened by blaring mariachi music from the room next door where the housekeepers have turned it up to amuse themselves at 9:00AM, and you don't mind eating every meal outside of the hotel, then you will enjoy the luxurious, sumptuous hotel decor and the ease with which you can walk over to the Little Nell for lunch and drinks or down Mill Street to a ton of wonderful restaurants for dinner.

3. Everyday of our short five day trip we enjoyed a la carte breakfast in the main restaurant and the service was friendly, fast and the food very good.

6. The resort is at the base of Aspen Mountain, and a short walk to the best restaurants, galleries, shops, etc. The lobby lounge (Shadow Mountain Lounge) is perfect for Apres Ski, and a gathering spot in general.

7. Restaurant reservations were all nicely handled and she recommended Rustique as an alternative to Cache-Cache (I steered clear of that due to poor reviews on Tripadvisor) and it was phenomenal.

8. The hotel is located in the very heart of downtown Aspen with all of the great restaurants and shopping nearby.
