1. I stayed in a smoking room, but I've stayed in smoking rooms before and they almost never had any bad smell.

2. Our dirty glasses were left and the melted ice from the ice bucket wasn't discarded of; to include making the room smell fresh.

3. The rooms were a good size but it had a peculiar smell to it (perhaps because it was a smoking floor) and the carpeting was very old and dated, but otherwise the rooms were very clean.

4. The floor was a smoking floor and had smell to it and they were unable to give us a room on a non-smoking floor as the hotel was full.

7. From the curtains that did not even attempt to block sunlight, to the slightly smokey smell of the room, to the total lack of soundproofing (with a group of noisy drunk students down the hall), every aspect of my room was a bit below standard.

13. Our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room and while I am sure no one had smoked in this room recently, there was a distinct smell of smoke in the room - I am sure the room used to be a smoking room at one point in time.

14. With an update to the interiors of the rooms, including new beds and removal of the smokey smell from rooms that were previously smoking rooms, this would be a great hotel.

16. The accomodations are spacious and the beds are very comfortable; however, the older-style ventilation in the building made our room smell of cigarette smoke (which we determined had seeped into the carpet).

19. All things considered though, I think next time I would choose a 3 star with a spacious room, pool, and fresh smell and just buy a map.
