Now that the Hersha Group (owner of properties
like
Hampton Inn, Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn etc) recently bought The Rittenhouse Hotel (March 2012), maybe they will take some steps to refresh the rooms.

like
Franklin Institue (another big hit.

Why block a nice view
like
that? We moved ours a bit to the side so we could have direct access to the window.

The first room we were assigned featured peeling wallpaper, water damage, and a generally poor feng shui that made the room feel
like
an over-glorified under-renovated Marriott decorated by Bombay Company.

Small touches
like
champagne and strawberries and cider in the lobby each evening just added to the great experience.
