On the downside, the parking is expensive (we paid $43 overnight) which seems a tad high even by DC standards (although anyone thinking of using a cheaper garage would be well advised to check whether the rate includes taking the car out and whether the valet parkers there will retrieve items from the car for you - at the Westin the answer is yes on both counts).

4. DC is a fascinating, historical town, and when I go back, I`ll probably do so most likely on a weekend when room rates are cheaper and street parking is free.

9. (By the way - check out the parking garages around the hotel - they seemed to be cheaper ) We decided to work around that and park at Reagan Intn`l and take the metro to the hotel.

10. Nonetheless, I would choose this hotel only if it were a much cheaper option than some of the other hotels in the area, which are generally nicer and more up to date.
