1. The manager was most apologetic but it could have been a real issue if someone had decided to make their way in there for whatever reason.

2. Generally you know what you are going to get with a Holiday Inn if you do a bit of homework: reasonable mid range accomodation; good quality beds; well maintained rooms; reasonable sized rooms; helpful staff.

3. If you are not so mobile public transport (including the cable car) is immediately local, reasonably priced and convenient in accessibility and frequency of service.

4. Bottom line, if you're looking for a reasonable but nice and secure place to stay in San Francisco, the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway will do right by you.

5. I still recommend the hotel for those traveling on holidays , as it has a good location by the end of the California line cable car, and is price reasonably, although the hotel needs a deep 'washing up': old furniture, not enough light, not so clean carpets,etc.

7. There wasn't a lot of space - you wouldn't want to be there for a long stay, for all srts of reasons.
