On the 24th floor you could hear the street louder than i can in my home in the UK on a main roadWalls were paper thin - more noiseand $38 plus tax to park a car in my own hotel is taking the mickeySan Fran is a rip off town generally and I'm glad we went but we wont be going back, and certainly not to this hotel.

2. generally you know what you are going to get with a Holiday Inn if you do a bit of homework: reasonable mid range accomodation; good quality beds; well maintained rooms; reasonable sized rooms; helpful staff.

3. You might also walk 1/2 mile west to Fillmore or one block east to Polk for restaurants, boutiques and general shopping.

7. I was very pleased with the rooms and general maintenance of the hotel, free wi-fi, and also the staff helped us in arranging a cab to the airport very efficiently.

8. The room was reasonably furnished, nothing special but the lack of soundproofing on the windows meant our sleep was disturbed by wailing sirens and general traffic on Van Ness.

9. I was not greeted upon arrival or offered any assistance, and although the staff were generally friendly they were not very on top of things (don't wait in the line in front of the check-in counter - if you don't walk up to someone they won't even acknowledge your presence).
