I paid about 50% LESS at the Larchmont (just on the other side on Union Square) for the same size room which included bathrobe, slippers, a lounge with

computer, a bedside light and table, flatscreen TV and breakfast.

You have to share the bathrooms, and the ratio between rooms and bathrooms is ridiculously large, so you often have to wait for one to be
free
when you're trying to take your morning shower.

This was my first trip to NYC and though, admittedly, I was a tiny bit nervous about staying in the city alone and about an unwanted encounter with bed bugs, I felt safe in this neighbourhood and it gave me a flavour of what living in this city - bed bug
