2. We used the Speedy Shuttle from/to the airport (cheaper than a taxi) and found we really didn't miss not having a car for our short stay -- any longer and we probably would have wanted a rental.

4. I prefer self-parking, not only because it is cheaper but also because the valet parking area leaves your car baking in the sun.

5. Even if you missed out, check online when you get back home, i have found prices even cheaper than the souvenir shops from these producer direct websites (why do they want rip off direct onsite travelers compare to the internet? who knows).

6. Although bar prices and restaurant prices are somewhat high, a cafe is provided off of the main lobby with a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items for those who prefer lighter or cheaper meals.

8. Had first night dinner at the hotel restaurant which was good but too expensive to use further, but there are several good restaurants 2 miles down the road at Kawaihae that are cheaper and also quite good.

9. The internet was also quite costly to use in the business centre comparatively so it would be better to bring your own laptop as the wifi access in the rooms is cheaper all together.
