1. The free breakfast isn't anything to write home about but there was juice, coffee, pastries, fresh waffles, hard boiled eggs and cereal.

2. It was hard to find a clean hotel with smoking rooms in the French Quarter so we opted to stay a block from the Quarter at the Best Western on Magazine street which was right across Canal Street into the quarter.

3. Since parking seems to be the number 2 industry of New Orleans after tourism, it's hard to find and expensive when you do in downtown New Orleans(for example, there is a restaurant just across the street which charges $20 to valet, just for dinner.

4. I understand that the rates were much higher this past weekend than they usually are which is a good thing, because on an ordinary non-festival weekend this hotel would have a hard time justifying the rate that was being charged this past weekend.

5. hard to say because the front desk lady actually took her phone & left the room & refused to tell us why we weren't accommodated despite our paid reservation.
