2. and good shopping- Two blocks from Croissant D'Or, an awesome French patisserie and coffee/espresso restaurant- Our 4th floor room's casement window cranked opened for lots of fresh air and sun- Parklng lot is guarded 24 hrs/day- Funky, European pensione feel with lovely view of residential French Quarter- Ceiling fan- Full kitchenette (which we didn't use)- Quiet room- Comfortable bedDislikes:- Staff is a tad Fellini-esque--lots of different folks, laissez-faire attitude toward guests- dingy room, dingy bathroom with weak shower, nasty carpet- Old A/C heat units hard to control; no thermostat in room- Didn't even want to have coffee or juice in the pool-side hotel cafe--not appealing at all.

6. I would imagine that if you were on the first floor and did not face the pool that the room might be dark and dingy because you can`t open the windows as they are right on the sidewalk.

8. The carpeting was too dingy for us to walk around barefoot or in socks, and there was no microwave, coffee maker, or any utensils at all in the kitchen, which made it rather useless.
