The location is close close to perfect, in the desirable SE corner of the quarter, a short walk to Frenchman Street and far enough from the drunkfest on Bourbon Street that you can
avoid
it entirely.

It's off the beaten path enough to
avoid
drunken tourists on Bourbon Street, but easily within walking distance if you want to be one.

Great staff- provided us with umbrellas on a rainy night, gave good advice about what to see and areas to
avoid
, and gave us an electric kettle for our use when we came in from a very cold night out.

It is in a perfect location - it is in walking distance to everything you want to walk to, but you can
avoid
the craziness of burbon street if it's not your thing.

Tourist shops and small bars close to the hotel on Decatur, but you can
avoid
some 'undesireables' by walking on Chartres instead.
