1. The only negative I have to mention is the noise from people in the hall until 4am.
"Gorgeous Hotel and great service " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/28/2010 Vote
2. The rooms were nicely decorated but on the small side and without good sound proofing from hallway noise and adjoining rooms.
"Beautiful hotel, service mixed, rooms small and noisy with a smell " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/2/2010 Vote
3. If you are noise sensitive, request an interior room.
""Throw-back" hotel offers charm but also aged facilities " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/13/2009 Vote
4. A good deal of noise can be heard even in interior rooms due to thin walls and guest room doors that slam loudly.
"Squanders great potential " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/13/2009 Vote
5. Didn't hear any other noise from other rooms/guests during the rest of the stay.
"Charming hotel, great locale " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/11/2009 Vote
6. Although the room was on the 2nd floor and right off the elevators (I think the nasty girl at the check in counter purposely put us as close to the street and the elevators as possible) there was virtually no noise coming in the room.
"Beautiful hotel with lovely decor and good service. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/19/2009 Vote
7. However, we stayed in the room and funnily enough either got used to the noise or just didn't notice it after the first night, so if you do go make sure you ask whether the room is at the back where the generator is.
"Great Hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/14/2009 Vote
8. The only problem with this room was that it backed onto the generator at the back of the hotel and made a terrible noise.
"Great Hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/14/2009 Vote
9. If I were staying today, I would not request a room on the 2nd floor dartmouth street side, it is not a great view and the construction might be a problem in terms of noise during the day.
"Gorgeous hotel and great service for Christmastime " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/1/2009 Vote
10. Second night was better because we requested a fan to drown all of the noise.
"Gorgeous hotel, but not for light sleepers. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/30/2009 Vote
