1. We normally avoid upscale hotels because they are pricey, and so is everything you do within the hotel.

3. I recommend for a ceremony in the evening so you could avoid the extra fees which is 50 $ for make up artist and another 50$ for hair stylist on top of the carte price.

6. Had meals at several of the on-property restaurants, hard to avoid unless you want to drive the 20+ miles into Kona to other restaurants.

7. We prefer the Lagoon tower as it avoids long, time-consuming walks and/or dependence on the tram or limited boat service to get to the room as with the ocean tower.

8. You gotta rent a car and drive for miles around the island to see the sites but that takes work- which is what most of the Hilton guests are trying to avoid.

10. We avoided every restarant and bar as we spent $125 for a mexican meal, no drinks for 4 people at the Boats Landing on our 1st night - gasp.
