Have breakfast there by all means, but for your evening meal, check out some of the local restaurants, however two you should definately avoid are Cafe Claude (appaling service and overpriced food) and the Irish Bank Bar and Restaurant (almost no concept of customer service there, so we walked out and went elsewhere).

5. First-time visitors may want to be closer to the Bay and bustle, but people who want to troll Chinatown and Union Square (and avoid the noise of actually staying in Union Sqaure) will enjoy the Orchard Garden.

6. one word of caution is to avoid Sam's Grill restaurant which is just down the road - we were forced to leave an 18% tip by a very aggressive and demanding waiter - not a nice experience.
