1. The front desk staff were nice, but did not offer to let me use some Fabreze or something to freshen the terrible smoke smell and they wouldn't do anything about it.

4. El Train stop was a bit farther than I had thought, but it wasn't a terrible walk even in January.

7. Two complaints would be that the air conditioner was a bit noisy, and don't even think about spending time in the room watching TV as the picture-quality was terrible and there was a humming noise coming from it.

I have never posted a hotel review before but felt compelled to defend this one in the light of some of the terrible things people have posted about it (I do note that most folk who are being negative are Americans, so maybe you guys are just never happy with hotels unless it's 5* and with a $500 a night price tag??.
