3. All were comparable : despite the Philippe Starck designer signature, the single rooms were really tiny and 'well lived' (I'm avoiding to say 'used and old')Our rooms were noisy - you could hear people in the corridor as well as the next room TV - and so small, they weren't big enough to lay an open suitcase.

6. The first few days we booked onto the grayline tours, fantastic, this helps you to find your bearings and see the sights with a great tour guide, 3 day pass and a choice of 3 visits (for example, Rockafellas(worth a visit but real early in the morning on a clear day)/Statue of Liberty/Guggenheim museum/etc you do have a choice) - $104 each - However, at the present moment Statue of Liberty is closed for approx 12 months, hence you can only walk around it but the ferry ride is lovely - go on a clear day and as early as possible to avoid the mass queues.

10. The hotel itself is perfect in location for all the main sites and restaurants, and also close enough that if you want to avoid high taxi fairs you can easily use the airtram and Subway from the airport as its only a few blocks away.
