4. The sink was rusted, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, there was hardly room for one person in the bathroom, the toilet made noises all night and was old and dirty, the hot water in the sink didnt exist.

7. Some historic hotels are in awful shape and quite dirty, the Algonquin was not in this category -- it was in excellent condition and I found it to be very charming and a delight.

10. After a short wait we then had to move our luggage to a new suite - - an old, dark, non-updated, back of the building space with dirty windows on the 5th floor - - and right on top of an active construction site which was so loud we could not hear each other speak inside the room.
