The wear and
tear
is obvious and repairs and refurbishing are needed to clean up stains in particular.

The hotel itself looks modern on the outside but is showing signs of wear inside:
tear
s in the hallway wallpaper, scuff marks and scratches on furniture in the room, etc.
"Pleasant enough, but not up to star rating "

Our room was definitely showing some signs of wear and
tear
, but it was 100 times better than our previous hotels in NY (Best Western and Howard Johnson).

tear
, and it looked like there's been no major renovation or updates for about 10 years or so.

From the looks, the hotel decor and carpet and bathroom tiles have not been updated in atleast couple of decades so there are lot of wear and
tear
.
