1. I did get a quiet room (well, except for the loud noises of the couple next door enjoying themselves) but my view was of an inner, bricked off courtyard.

3. Oh, I most certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel in the summer as the pre-world war 2 air conditioning unit is so loud I'm sure it could raise the dead.

4. You really can't get any sleep during daytime, since the ongoing renovations which causes loud noises, but that I'll understand.

5. It was my first trip to NY, and the last thing I wanted was a hotel nightmare--bed bugs, shady neighborhoods, loud bars, etc.

6. The only downside had to do with air conditioning: despite a rather loud air conditioner in the window, the air in the room seemed to stand still.

7. My only minor complaint (and it seems to affect most New York hotels) is that the air conditioning was noisy which made it hot at night as it was too loud to have it on.
