1. Not too expensive, not too cheap, not too stylish, not too dowdy, the Chandler hits that perfect median.

2. They upgraded us to a great room but we didn't want to spend that much anyhow and the desk quickly changed our reservation to the less expensive room.

4. The less expensive rooms are small but the bed is comfortable, sheets and bathrobes are Frette, and the shower was cool with an overhead head.

5. Nothing annoys me more than paying for wi-fi when I'm in an expensive hotel.

6. The ONLY reason I wouldn't return to this hotel is because, well, New York is REALLY big, and I would love to explore more thoroughly some other little corner of Manhattan that I couldn't see much during my short stay, like SoHo, West Village, or the Meatpacking district (even though it would probably be a lot noisier, and more expensive).
"For a NY virgin, so pleased!! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/7/2011 Vote
7. The cost of valet parking ($40/day) kind of stinks, but it is not any more expensive than anywhere else in the city (actually less than some hotels we considered), and for us, valet + gas was cheaper than 2 plane or train tickets.
"Great Hotel for Great Price " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/7/2011 Vote
8. Continental breakfast was too expensive - that's the only negative that I can say.
"The best shower ever " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/3/2011 Vote
9. I learned of the Chandler by staying across the street at a very expensive hotel.

10. Valet - courteous and not hurried - checkRegistration - courteous and not hurried - so pleasant - checkHallways - narrow, but luggage rolls just fine - checkRoom - queen deluxe at the end of a hallway, inside corridor - double checkShower - I have to list this separate because of the shower head - great and roomy shower, odd placement of the head relative to being able to turn it on, but big and clean - checkBreakfast - expensive for continental, but perfection cannot be the enemy of goodLocation - walking distance to just about everything, Times Square, subway, etc.
