Yes, it's NY and I was staying in a petite single room but I found it a bit
claustrophobic

I booked the smallest single room and find it cozy and well laid out rather than
claustrophobic

Also, I recommend avoiding the rooms ending in '01' on each floor, as they are stuck at the back (east) end of the hotel, with only one window (rather than two), so they are even darker than the others and seem
claustrophobic
.
"Great hotel concept and location, but is now worn, feels dark, and has lost the "special" feeling. "

Our room was very clean, but very tiny; the high ceilings kept it from getting
claustrophobic

The 'petite' rooms are petite indeed, but extremely well organised and not at all
claustrophobic
(and the bathrooms are fantastic).

In retrospect, I wish I had opted for a larger room as I am used to high end hotels and this felt a little depressing and
claustrophobic
other than for sleep.

Was I wrong to expect a better breakfast option? The reading room was a major selling point but it has an awful
claustrophobic
feel to it.

We used this room constantly as the Jnr Suite can get a little
claustrophobic
with three people.

The hallway outside our room and at the elevator was no more that 4-5 feet wide and the elevators were tiny, though nicely updated--While it is to the owner`s credit that he was able to turn a warren of tiny offices into livable space, the the overall feeling from the moment you walk into the lobby is very
claustrophobic
.
