You can probably request a room facing building interior to
avoid
any noise issue.

Times square not far away, have a quick look at the crazy lights and adverts everywhere then
avoid
unless you are going to the theatre, it's too busy, especially on a night.

We booked the Library Hotel to
avoid
staying at the Grand Hyatt where our conference was headquartered, as we are not fond of convention hotels.

We travel a lot and we don't always have the chance to
avoid
the Hiltons, Sheratons or other big chains.

Also, I recommend
avoid
ing the rooms ending in '01' on each floor, as they are stuck at the back (east) end of the hotel, with only one window (rather than two), so they are even darker than the others and seem claustrophobic.
"Great hotel concept and location, but is now worn, feels dark, and has lost the "special" feeling. "

Try to
avoid
the smaller rooms as my room (fairy tales) was a nice size however any smaller wouldve been cramped.

Given that this was an anniversary trip, I was trying to
avoid
a huge, impersonal convention-type hotel.

Would
avoid
the rooms outside the lifts, 003 and 004, as the ringing noise when the lifts arrived was rather loud.

We had requested a room on a high floor to try to
avoid
this problem, but the 6th floor was as high as we could get.
