1. It is also a very dated building and the finishings of the walls and the carpets, both in and out of the rooms, were not up to standard.

This did two things: (1) got us away from the train noise that everyone had complained about if you stay in the other tower that faces the train tracks with all the incessant dinging of the crossing rails and the blowing of the train horns, and (2) got a great view of the harbor in a serviceable (but dated) room, with a balcony.
