1. So, if you aren't there to party, I would avoid the weekends.

2. If noise bothers you avoid this side.

3. Im assuming its probably the best way to go in the city but if you are more familiar with cheaper options near by, definitely avoid.

4. All of this could have been avoided if the front desk person would have be more properly informed.
"It's okay... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/14/2011 Vote
5. Some of the reviews mention the noise, which is significant because you are sandwiched between a dance club and the elevated railway - but if you avoid the top and bottom floors, I'd expect the typcical city sounds.
"Doubletree gets style... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/9/2011 Vote
6. The insultation wasn't great - I could hear our neighbors watching tv early in the morning and people walking in the hallways the sound travelled under the door so I had to put a towel down the next two nights to avoid being woken up.
"Perfect location - good enough for our trip " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/12/2011 Vote
7. If you plan to go to the ROOF, you should just get there early to avoid the line or stay at the hotel to get priority access when possible.

9. You have to be on a high floor to avoid noise from the El but not to high to avoid the huge noise from the skybar on 27th floor (12th is perfect)The skybar is a great disapointement: overcrowded at all times; presence in the lobby and elevators of screaming crowd of overdressed and ridiculous girls wearing high shoes they don t know to walk with:-) funny to see but rapidly annoying for hotel guests.
"Very good " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/14/2011 Vote
10. Also, on this night, the Roof was closed until 10:30pm, due to a private party being held there, which I believe might be standard due to the many conventions and corporate functions held in Chicago, so if you are staying or going because of the rooftop bar, it would be good to check in advance if it will be open the night you will be attending to avoid sudden surprises.
"Fun & Hip Hotel - But BEWARE of SUBWAY NOISES.... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/29/2011 Vote
