Pros: Excellent location if you have a car and will be coming and going frequently - easy access from Kapahulu Boulevard and Kalakaua Avenue to H-1; beach access; access to surf spots; one block from the Honolulu Zoo/Kapiolani Park; pleasant morning runs around Diamond Head; 2 nice (but low-key: no slides, etc) swimming pools with lounges; friendly staff with easy check in/out; well maintained rooms and beautifully kept grounds - 100% No Smoking, so the rooms smell terrific, and the Marriott beds are very comfortable; preeminent view of Diamond Head and the ocean; good restaurants on site; short walk to Rainbow Drive-in (for local flavor and plate lunch); and it's on the Diamond Head side of Waikiki so it doesn't feel as claustrophobic as the central/Ala Moana side.
