1. There were some issues related to renovations currently being undertaken, but those should all be resolved as the work gets completed.

DON'T drive a car here; literally EVERYBODY we saw in the lobby was someone who had a car and was having HUGE issues because of it (the hotel parking was full / the valet jammed the house key into the ignition and broke it / the car which was temporarily parked outside had been towed, etc) So if you're using public transport (nearest Metro stop about 3 blocks away) and are ambulatory, the State Plaza hotel is a good option for the money.
