DON'T drive a car here; literally EVERYBODY we saw in the lobby was someone who had a car and was having HUGE issues because of it (the hotel parking was full / the valet jammed the house key into the ignition and
broke
it / the car which was temporarily parked outside had been towed, etc) So if you're using public transport (nearest Metro stop about 3 blocks away) and are ambulatory, the State Plaza hotel is a good option for the money.

The registration desk was very small and crowded, the elevator was very slow, when it worked (it
broke
down, with us in it and one of the maintenance workers was on board as well, he and we ended up getting off and using the only other elevator.
