2. This was a much nicer place than we'd normally stay, but the cost of the room had been paritally paid for by a company we do business with (we were in DC for a bicycle lobbying event and one of our suppliers, Trek, was helping dealers with the cost).

3. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travellers - we got a `long weekend deal` as well so the cost was extremely reasonabe for such a superb hotel.

5. We had to pay for internet and the phone calls we made from the hotel room were very expensive but as you are in a quality hotel you almost expect those add on costs.

6. Valet parking is costly as well, but you are in DC and it is hard to find a place to park close to this hotel, so you have grin and bear it cost $42 a day to park.

7. SInce we were also there to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday, I thought I would just see how much it would cost to stay at a really nice hotel (one listed in the top 5 on Trip Advisor) - just for fun.
