The in- house restaurant was fine for breakfast, although we found the Cafe 222 down the
street
to be much better.

The friends who were traveling with us were on the left side of the hotel (Room #427) and they said the nightlife out their window to the early morning hours was a little tough to get used to (there's a very big club right across the
street
on the corner of 4th St and Island Ave) so if noise bothers you I would suggest you ask to be on the right side of the hotel.

There is the largest night club located across the quiet
street
so watchout for noise on the weekends.

There is a great shopping center very close, with trendy high
street
shops.

Though I was warned, I didn't realize how much noise there would be at night due to a very popular night club directly across the
street
, the noise didn't die down until 3 am.

Friendly staff and good restaurantFireplaces in rooms a nice touchCons:No coffee makerTiny (versus full size) ironing boardNightclub across the
street
will definitely be heard if a band is playing late hence my 'poor' rating for sleep quality.

If you want to get some sleep on Fridays and Saturdays ask for a room away from the
street
facing the Flex nightclub.

You can follow that by heading across the
street
to the Marble Room for some good food while listening to some live music.

The hotel is located just off of the main Gaslamp
street
, so it was close enough to various shops/restaurants/convention center, but far enough where you didn't have the constant
street
traffic (if you don't include the club next door).
