such a good hotel located close to everything in downtown SF (around 10 min
walk
ing to union square) although the neighborhood doesn't look that safe as you can see many homeless ppl around especially at night, it is perfectly safe to
walk
around even at night.

to Castro.

It was not worth it to not be able to sleep at night and be afraid to
walk
around at night.

It is a shame it's a nice building, great location 5min
walk
up the road you are central to everything, but it is so dirty and the homless outside just really let it down.

If I were by myself I would just
walk
quickly through the groups of homeless people and drug addicts knowing that if a problem arose, I could leg it, but being with my 50 year old mother and father I had to forever watch our backs during the journey between the hotel and the safe tourist populated parts.

The hotel is based just on the edge of the main touristy area so it is
walk
ing distance of Union Square, UN Plaza, China Town Japan Town, in fact you're a couple of miles
walk
from any of the main attractions even Height Ashbury and Alcatraz.

Bus and Muni stop right in front of the hotel, and also the Bart is less than 2 minutes to
walk
from the Renoir.
