The only thing about Cova is the location, at day time is safe to just walk to Union Square (or take the hotel shuttle there), the problem is at night, as some of the other reviews say, the reason is because the hotel is close to a church that gives shelter to homeless people so at dark is better to not walk near the hotel (we always took a cab returning to the hotel, mostly from Fisherman's Wharf).
