2. Room service was terrific, and each evening I came back to find a towel folded, origami style, into some animal and left on the bed--a sting ray, crab, elephant, each with little paper eyes stuck on to complete the illusion.

5. The best part has been the different towel animals that room service leave on your bed everyday, I've loved coming back each day and seeing what it was going to be, very clever and novel :).

Services were basic - no breakfast, $10 daily for internet, minimal TV stations, no fridge and 'room service' is really a call for take-out delivery - but given cleanliness, price and location at epicenter of downtown (above plus pleasant walk through Chinatown to North Beach or to the Embarcadero) this hotel simply cannot be topped.
